Helen has more German restaurants per capita than almost anywhere outside Germany, mostly concentrated along Main Street (Hauptstrasse). The quality ranges from excellent to deeply Disneyesque, but the best of them serve honest schnitzel, bratwurst, sauerkraut, and German beers at reasonable prices. Beyond the German theme, there are a handful of non-themed restaurants catering to the large Oktoberfest crowd.
