Raven Cliff Falls Trail

The Raven Cliff Falls Trail in the Chattahoochee National Forest, about 12 miles northeast of Helen, leads to one of the most dramatic waterfalls in Georgia — a 400-foot cascade (including an upper section that disappears into a rock crevice and reappears below) in a gorge thick with rhododendron. The round-trip hike is about 5 miles on a well-maintained trail.

The trail follows Dodd Creek through dense forest; the falls at the end are worth the walk. The lower section of the falls is visible from a viewing bridge; the upper crevice waterfall requires a short scramble. The trail is most popular in spring when the rhododendrons bloom and in autumn for foliage.
