Vogel State Park sits at the base of Blood Mountain, north of Helen and Blairsville. The park has a small lake, forest trails, picnic areas, and access to the mountain scenery of the southern Appalachians. It is a good choice for a quieter outdoor day when Helen's main streets are crowded.
