A 3,605-foot summit on the Dawson/Gilmer county line, just south of Springer Mountain. The peak is reachable by a side trail off the AT and is a quieter alternative to Springer itself for a viewpoint hike. The summit has a small clearing with a rock outcrop and views southwest to Amicalola.
Most thru-hikers pass straight through without diverting; the side trail is a short out-and-back that adds about a mile total. Worth the detour on a clear day for the view, less so when the ridges are in cloud.
