Evansville sits in the far southwest corner of Indiana, about 170 miles southwest of Indianapolis and 180 miles from Louisville, Kentucky.
The Evansville Regional Airport (EVV) offers flights to several hub airports including Chicago O'Hare, Dallas/Fort Worth, and Atlanta. It is the main commercial airport for the region. Car hire is available at the airport and is essentially necessary for getting around, as there is no rail service to Evansville.
By car, I-64 connects Evansville eastward toward Louisville and Indianapolis, and westward to St. Louis. US-41 runs north-south through the city. From Indianapolis the drive is about 2.5 hours via I-69; from Louisville it is about 2 hours via I-64. The Ohio River crossing into Kentucky is via the Lloyd Expressway bridge, and the old Henderson Bridge is no longer open to through traffic.
There is no Amtrak service to Evansville. Greyhound connects the city to Indianapolis and Chicago, with services from the historic terminal on Main Street.
