Columbian Park

Columbian Park is a large riverside park along the Wabash River, the main green space in the city. It has a small seasonal zoo (one of the oldest municipally operated zoos in Indiana), an amusement area with a carousel and miniature train, picnic areas, and sports facilities. It is primarily a family park and particularly busy on summer weekends.

The park fronts the Wabash River and has good walking paths along the bank. The Historic Scott Street Pavilion, a 1920s open-air structure listed on the National Register of Historic Places, hosts outdoor events and concerts in summer. The park is free to enter; the zoo and some rides have small fees.
