Potawatomi Zoo is Indiana's oldest zoo, founded in 1902 and set within Potawatomi Park. It has more than 400 animals on a compact 23-acre site, including primates, larger habitat areas, and a small train aimed at families.
The zoo is a straightforward family stop on the east side of South Bend. It is easy to combine with the park's playgrounds, picnic areas, and other outdoor facilities.
