Figge Art Museum

Glass-fronted riverfront art museum and Davenport's strongest cultural landmark.

The Figge Art Museum is Davenport's best museum and the easiest cultural stop to recommend. Its collection covers American, Haitian, Mexican colonial, and regional art, and the building itself gives the riverfront a strong contemporary edge.

It is worth visiting even if you only have a half day in the Quad Cities. Pair it with a walk along the Mississippi or a quick crossing to the Illinois side for a fuller sense of the riverfront.

A story
The Figge's modern building changed Davenport's riverfront profile when it opened in 2005. Its glass exterior can look cool and corporate in photographs, but from the riverfront it gives downtown a clear cultural marker.
