The castle buildings can be admired from the road year-round, but the warmer months make it far more pleasant to walk around town and explore Battle Creek Lake and the surrounding parks. Winter brings harsh cold and occasional heavy snowfall, making driving in the area more difficult — many visitors simply pass through on their way elsewhere during that season.
