The Kentucky Bourbon Trail loops through distilleries in the surrounding Bluegrass countryside — Woodford Reserve (about 20 minutes south at Versailles), Four Roses (near Lawrenceburg, 25 minutes), and Wild Turkey (near Lawrenceburg) are all easy half-day excursions with tours and tastings. Louisville is an hour to the west, worth a day for the Louisville Slugger Museum, the Muhammad Ali Center, and the distillery row on Main Street. Lexington, an hour to the east, is the heart of horse country with the Kentucky Horse Park and Keeneland racecourse.
