Louisville's bar scene benefits from its bourbon heritage and its 4am last-call law — one of the latest in any major American city. Bardstown Road in the Highlands has the densest concentration of bars. NuLu on East Market Street has the newer, more polished places with excellent cocktail programs. Whiskey Row is for bourbon tourists, but not without merit.
