The John and Maria Webb House at 121 Main Street is one of the few surviving Federal-period buildings in Bridgton. Built in 1841–42, it is a 2½-story wood-frame house with Greek Revival details — a recessed entry flanked by sidelights and decorative pilasters, a gabled roof, and a granite foundation. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.
What makes it unusual is persistence: despite sitting on Bridgton's main commercial corridor, surrounded by shops and businesses, the house has never been converted from its original residential use. It is now occupied by the Rufus Porter Museum, which owns both this building and a second adjacent structure. The Federal-period details, particularly the entrance, are worth stopping to examine if you are walking Main Street.
