Kennebunkport is 145 km north of Boston and about 30 km south of Portland. Most visitors arrive by car, and it is the most practical way to come.
By car from Boston, take I-95 north to Exit 25 (Kennebunk), then follow Route 35 east into Kennebunk and across the river into Kennebunkport. The drive is around 90 minutes in normal traffic; add 30–45 minutes on Friday evenings in summer when the Boston exodus is heavy.
By bus, the Amtrak Downeaster train connects Boston's North Station with Wells, Maine, the nearest stop — about 10 km south. The train takes around 90 minutes. From Wells, a taxi or rideshare is needed to reach Kennebunkport; there is no local bus connection. The Downeaster also stops at Portland (30 minutes further north).
By air, Portland International Jetport (PWM) is the nearest regional airport, about 45 km north. Boston Logan (BOS) is larger and has more connections, with the drive north as described.
Parking in Kennebunkport is limited and expensive in summer. Several satellite lots on the edge of town offer a shuttle into Dock Square, and this is generally the easier approach on summer weekends.
