Across the drawbridge in Eastport — a neighbourhood that semi-seriously declared itself the Maritime Republic of Eastport in 1998 — Boatyard has been the go-to sailor's bar and casual restaurant since 2001. The walls are covered in nautical memorabilia, half the customers walk over from the marinas next door, and the rockfish tacos and award-winning crab cake are reliably good.
It is loud, family-friendly, and one of the easier weeknight tables in town. Try the cream of crab soup. The bar opens early on race days and stays packed through the wine country sailing season from spring through autumn.
