Annapolis lives on the Chesapeake Bay, and the local food reflects it: blue crab in every form (cakes, soft-shell, steamed and piled on newspaper), oysters in season, rockfish (striped bass), and corn fritters. The City Dock area concentrates the touristy waterfront seafood houses; for quieter, less expensive options head to the West Street corridor or out to Eastport across the Spa Creek bridge, where several of the best chef-driven kitchens have opened in the last decade.
