The Cabot

The Cabot, at 286 Cabot Street, is Beverly's marquee cultural venue — a lovingly restored 1920 movie palace turned nonprofit performing arts center. The interior retains its original decorative details, and the 600-seat main hall has become one of the more intimate mid-sized concert halls on the North Shore.

Programming leans eclectic: indie rock, folk, jazz, stand-up comedy, film screenings, and family events share the calendar. The Cabot also hosts live broadcasts and maintains a strong local identity, operating as a community anchor rather than a touring-circuit stop. Tickets are generally affordable and the sightlines are excellent from most seats.

A story
Originally opened in 1920 as a silent film house, the Cabot became a neighborhood anchor for decades before falling into disrepair. A community campaign rescued it in 2016, restoring the original marquee and converting it into a nonprofit performing arts venue that now draws acts from across New England.
