Downtown Nantucket has been the center of island activity since the 1700s. Old boathouses have been converted into shops, boutiques, and galleries, all locally owned and original to the island. On weekends, Main Street fills with old-fashioned trucks carrying fresh vegetables from Bartlett Farm and bundles of wildflowers.
There are no chain stores here -- everything you find is unique to Nantucket.
