Plymouth Long Beach

Long barrier beach protecting Plymouth Harbor, good for sand, birds, and open views.

Plymouth Long Beach is a narrow barrier beach stretching south of the harbour, with sand on one side and sheltered water and marshier edges on the other. It gives Plymouth a wilder coastal counterpoint to the historic waterfront around the rock and Mayflower memorials.

Access and seasonal rules matter, especially for nesting shorebirds and parking. When open, it is one of the better places in town to step away from pilgrimage history and remember that Plymouth is also a working New England coastal landscape.
