St. Paul shares Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) with its twin city — one of the largest airports in the Midwest, with direct flights to most US destinations and a good range of international routes. The airport is about 10 km from downtown St. Paul and connected by the METRO Green Line light rail, which runs directly into the city centre. The journey takes about 25 minutes.
By train, Amtrak's Empire Builder route passes through the St. Paul-Minneapolis station on its Chicago-Seattle run, though frequency is limited (one train per day in each direction). The station is in the Midway neighbourhood between the two downtowns.
Driving from Chicago takes about seven hours; from Milwaukee, about five. The I-94 corridor connects St. Paul to the Twin Cities airport, Minneapolis, and points east.
