Ruth and Paul Henning Conservation Area is one of the easiest ways to remember that Branson sits in real Ozark country. Trails lead through glades and woods west of the strip, with overlooks that make the theatre billboards feel very far away.
It is a good low-cost break from ticketed attractions. Wear proper shoes, bring water in warm weather, and expect rocky footing on some trails.
