Mark Twain Riverboat

The Mark Twain riverboat is a working paddle wheeler that runs short sightseeing cruises out of Hannibal between April and October. The standard one-hour trip steams a mile or two up- and down-river, with a narrated commentary on the boatbuilding history of the town, the levees, and the islands.

Longer dinner cruises run at weekends. The boat is not original — paddle wheelers no longer plied the Upper Mississippi by the time it was launched — but it is the closest most visitors will come to a Twain-era river journey.
