Margaret Tobin Brown — known to history as the unsinkable Molly Brown — was born in a small frame cottage in the working-class end of Hannibal in 1867. The house, restored as a small museum, is a contrast to the more famous Mark Twain Boyhood Home: poorer, smaller, and a reminder that 19th-century Hannibal was first and foremost an industrial town.
Inside are family photographs, Titanic-related items, and a short film about her life. It is run on limited hours, mostly by volunteers, and is worth combining with the other Hill Street sights.
