Dickerson Park Zoo is Springfield’s main zoo and one of the city’s reliable family outings. It has a broad animal collection, manageable paths, and enough shade and playfulness to work well with children.
It is not the city’s most distinctive attraction, but it is a solid half-day when you want something outdoors and easy to navigate. Pair it with other north-side stops or use it as a break from Route 66 and downtown history.
