Coulson Park sits along the Yellowstone River where the short-lived town of Coulson preceded modern Billings. There is not much of the old settlement left to see, but the location gives the city a rougher frontier context than the polished downtown grid.
Today the park is mostly a riverside open space for walking, fishing access, and a look at the Yellowstone as it passes the edge of town. It is a low-key stop, but useful if you want to connect Billings with the river that shaped its early economy.
