Butte is a city you visit for its mining-era inheritance — the Victorian streetscapes, the Berkeley Pit, the labour history, and a couple of museums that are better than they have any right to be. Plan a full day in Uptown and the better part of a second to see the surrounding mining sites and the mansion that the copper kings built for themselves.
