Lazlo's Brewery and Grill is one of the anchor restaurants of the Haymarket, occupying a large brick building with a rooftop deck that is among the more pleasant places to eat in Lincoln on a warm evening. The beer is brewed on-site — the range covers straightforward American styles done well, nothing experimental — and the menu is the kind of solid American gastropub food that works well with a cold beer: burgers, sandwiches, steaks, a decent selection of salads.
The place is popular and can get loud on weekends, which is either a feature or a bug depending on your preference. Service is consistent and the kitchen is reliable. For a city unfamiliar with the restaurant, Lazlo's is a safe choice — nothing surprising, but nothing disappointing either. The rooftop deck, open from spring through early fall, is the best seat in the house.
