The Lobster House

A Cape May institution on the harbour since 1956, with its own fishing fleet docked out front. The full dining room serves the standard New England seafood line — lobster, broiled scallops, flounder — but the better experience is at the Fish Market takeout counter or aboard the Schooner America, a 1947 Maine schooner permanently moored alongside and converted into a deck bar.

Expect a wait in summer; they do not take reservations for the main dining room. The complex is enormous and a little chaotic at peak hours, but the fish is genuinely fresh.
