Cape May, with its Victorian houses and quieter beaches, is fifteen minutes south. Atlantic City, about an hour up the coast, makes a contrasting day out — casinos, a longer boardwalk, and a much harder edge. The Cape May–Lewes Ferry, departing from North Cape May, lets you cross to Lewes in Delaware in 85 minutes if you want a third state in a day.
