The Wildwoods Convention Center sits directly on the boardwalk and is the venue for most of the city's bigger events: car shows, dance competitions, the Irish Festival, and concerts that pull crowds from Philadelphia and New York. The building, finished in 2002, was designed to echo the curves and pastel colours of the surrounding Doo Wop motels.
Outside of event days the centre has little to offer the casual visitor, but checking its schedule before a trip is worthwhile — the parking lot fills with vintage cars during the spring and autumn auto shows, and the boardwalk concerts on the back lawn are free.
