Angel Fire is about 25 miles east of Taos on US-64, a two-hour drive from Santa Fe and around three hours from Albuquerque. Most visitors arrive by car — there is no public transport to speak of. Albuquerque International Sunport is the closest major airport, with direct flights from most US cities; Santa Fe Municipal Airport has limited service. Angel Fire Airport (IATA: AXX) handles private and charter aircraft.
The drive from Taos over the Palo Flechado Pass is scenic but can be treacherous in winter; carry chains or ensure you have four-wheel drive if coming in snow conditions.
