Angel Fire has two clear seasons. The ski season runs from roughly mid-December through March, with January and February seeing the most reliable snow. March can be excellent — longer days, settled weather, and lighter crowds — but conditions are less predictable.
Summer, from late June through early September, is the other busy period: warm days (highs in the mid-60s Fahrenheit), cool nights, and afternoon thunderstorms from July onward. The Mountain Bike Park operates from early summer through Labour Day. Late September and early October bring the aspen colours, which are among the best in New Mexico; this window is short — often just two weeks — and worth timing your trip around if you can. Spring and the shoulder between the ski and summer seasons (April–May) are quiet and the weather is changeable.
