Foxy Drive-In has been on West 21st Street since 1952 and is the kind of car-hop drive-in that has mostly disappeared from the rest of the country. Pull into a numbered slot, order through the speaker, and a server brings the food out on a tray that hooks onto the window.
The signature is the green-chile cheeseburger — beef patty, melted American cheese, slices of roasted Hatch chile — with crinkle-cut fries and a root-beer float. Cash works best; portions are generous, prices reasonable.
