Los Alamos has no commercial airport. The nearest is Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ), about 90 minutes away by car. Santa Fe Municipal Airport handles some charter and private flights and is 45 minutes away.
By car, Los Alamos is reached via New Mexico Highway 502 from Española (25 miles, about 35 minutes) or via Highway 4 through the Jemez Mountains from the west. From Santa Fe, take US-285 north to Española and then NM-502 west. From Albuquerque, the fastest route goes north on I-25 to Española, then west on NM-502.
There is no direct bus service to Los Alamos. Rental cars at Albuquerque airport are the standard option.
