Jamestown is small enough that the centre is walkable, but you will need a car to reach Chautauqua Lake, the Chautauqua Institution, and the surrounding countryside. The Chautauqua Area Regional Transit System (CARTS) runs limited bus routes within the city and to nearby communities like Falconer and Lakewood, but service is infrequent.
