Economy Candy has been selling sweets, chocolates, dried fruit and nuts from its Rivington Street shop since 1937. The narrow space is floor-to-ceiling with vintage candy brands, imported chocolates and bulk bins of the kind of sweets that exist nowhere else in New York. It remains family-owned and manages to be a genuine neighbourhood institution and tourist destination simultaneously.
