By air: Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) is the nearest airport, about 15 miles east of Chapel Hill. It has frequent connections to major US hubs and a handful of international routes. Taxis, rideshares, and rental cars are all available at the airport. The drive to Chapel Hill takes 20–35 minutes depending on traffic.
By car: Chapel Hill sits at the western point of the Research Triangle, off I-40. From Raleigh, take I-40 west and exit at US-15/501 south. Parking in town is manageable by college-town standards — a few public decks near Franklin Street handle overflow from street parking.
By bus: GoTriangle operates regional bus service connecting Chapel Hill to Durham, Raleigh, and RDU airport. The routes run regularly during weekday hours and connect to the local Chapel Hill Transit system. Chapel Hill Transit within the town is free of charge.
