Haywood County Courthouse

The Haywood County Courthouse is a Neoclassical Revival building on the north end of Main Street, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Built in 1932 and designed in the fashionable civic style of the period — red brick with white stone detailing and a symmetrical facade — it anchors the upper end of downtown and gives Waynesville's civic core a sense of permanence.

The building is still in active use as a county courthouse. Worth a look for the architecture, and a good landmark for orienting yourself in downtown Waynesville.
