Eating Out

Akron has a solid restaurant scene that punches above its weight. Swensons is a beloved local drive-in chain — pull in, flash your lights, and order a Galleyboy (their signature double cheeseburger with two sauces). Bricco downtown has a diverse menu and consistently delivers. Diamond Grille is the place for a proper steak dinner. For late nights, Luigi's is the local dive everyone ends up at for pizza. The Waterloo in Highland Square is cheap, good, and has something for everyone. Menches Brothers, who claim to have invented the hamburger, still serve their original recipe — which, unusually, includes coffee grounds in the patty.
