Delaware County Courthouse

The Delaware County Courthouse stands on the north end of the downtown core, a Victorian-era public building in the Italianate style that anchors the civic heart of the city. Built in 1868, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and remains in active use as the county seat.

The exterior is worth a look for its ornate stonework and the proportions typical of ambitious mid-nineteenth-century county courthouse construction in Ohio. It is not a destination in itself but fits naturally into a walk through the historic downtown, sitting at the top of the main commercial street.
