Maumee Bay Brewing

Maumee Bay opened in 1995 in the Oliver House, a restored 1859 hotel in the Warehouse District — and is the brewery that more or less single-handedly launched craft beer in Toledo. The flagship Buckeye Beer is a clean Pilsener; the Glass Hopper IPA and the Total Eclipse Black IPA are the more interesting picks.

The Oliver House complex now holds the brewery, a German biergarten in the courtyard, a casual brewpub, and the more formal Rockwell's restaurant — pick whichever room suits your evening. Tours of the brewery run on Saturday afternoons.
