R.A. Stranahan Arboretum is a green, unshowy place on the west side of Toledo, managed by the University of Toledo. Its trails, tree collections, and seasonal plantings make it a useful counterpoint to the city's museums and riverfront sights.
It is best approached as a quiet walk rather than a blockbuster attraction. Come for spring bloom, fall colour, or simply a calm hour among labelled trees and natural areas before heading back into Toledo proper.
