Broken Bow Lake

Broken Bow Lake is a 14,000-acre reservoir formed by damming the Mountain Fork in 1969, with 180 miles of shoreline that mostly remain undeveloped forest. The water is unusually clear for an Oklahoma lake — visibility of 15 feet or more in summer — which makes it popular for swimming, scuba diving, and bass fishing.

Several launches and small marinas ring the lake, with rental pontoons, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards in the summer months. The north end is the quietest, with several primitive campsites accessible only by water. Beavers Bend Marina on the southern shore is the main hub, with a restaurant and the usual lake supplies.
