Little River National Wildlife Refuge

Little River National Wildlife Refuge protects bottomland hardwood forest, sloughs, and wetland habitat south of Broken Bow. The Duck Roost Slough Observation Deck is the easiest highlight, giving a good look into the refuge without needing a long hike.

There are also primitive walking trails for birdwatching and quiet exploration. Check conditions before going, especially during hunting season, and expect a wilder, less managed feel than Beavers Bend State Park.
