El Reno is a small Route 66 town with a coherent historic downtown: a row of granite-and-brick early-twentieth-century buildings, two early service stations preserved on Choctaw Avenue, a Carnegie library still in use, and the ruins of Fort Reno just out of town. The Heritage Express trolley runs between most of them on summer weekends.
