Pawhuska offers two very different draws: the natural grandeur of the tallgrass prairie and the cultural weight of Osage history. Both are close, and doing both in a single day is easy. The Scorsese film effect has added visitors, but the town has not been overrun — the Prairie Preserve and the Osage Nation Museum remain genuine experiences rather than tourist productions.
