The Payne County Courthouse anchors downtown Stillwater and gives the city a civic center away from campus. Its presence helps balance the town: Stillwater is not only OSU, even if the university gets most of the attention.
Use it as a starting point for a short downtown walk. The surrounding blocks are the right scale for browsing, coffee, or a meal before heading back toward campus.
