Whitespires, formally the United Presbyterian Church and Rectory, is one of Albany's most photographed buildings — a Gothic Revival church with two distinctive white spires that have been landmarks on the Albany skyline since 1892. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places and is considered one of the finest examples of Gothic Revival ecclesiastical architecture in Oregon.
The church was built using locally quarried basalt, which gives the walls a rugged texture that contrasts with the elegance of the spires. It sits in the Monteith Historic District, within walking distance of the courthouse and several of Albany's other significant historic buildings. Services are still held here, and the exterior can be appreciated at any time.
