Ninkasi was the first big Whiteaker brewery and is still the largest — a sprawling production facility with a tasting room on Van Buren Street and a generous fenced lawn out the back where on summer evenings you will find half the neighbourhood. The line-up runs from the flagship Total Domination IPA through to seasonal stouts and saisons; pizza, wings, and salads from the kitchen.
It is a useful first stop on a Whiteaker brewery crawl. Hop Valley is two blocks east. Sam Bond's Garage, for live music with the beer, is a few more blocks north on Blair.
