Eugene is small enough to cover on foot and by bike, with three useful clusters: the University of Oregon campus to the southeast (Hayward Field, the Schnitzer Museum, the Museum of Natural and Cultural History); downtown around Kesey Square, the Hult Center, and Saturday Market; and the Whiteaker to the northwest, the older industrial neighbourhood that has become Eugene's hippiest pocket. Add Spencer Butte and Skinner Butte for the views, and Pre's Rock for the running pilgrimage.
