Marché, on the ground floor of 5th Street Public Market, is the most reliably good restaurant in Eugene — a Provençal-leaning bistro that has been quietly excellent since 1998. The menu is short, changes weekly, and leans hard on Willamette Valley produce: wild mushroom tart, duck confit, hanger steak, a small selection of fish and shellfish.
The wine list (Burgundy and Pacific Northwest, heavily) is one of the best in the state. Reservations are essential at weekends. The associated Marché Provisions café upstairs has the same kitchen at lunch prices.
